FINISHING
1 Weave in ends. Block pieces, following any yarn care instructions
on the ball band. Pin and join bottom and side seams.
2 Cut a piece of lining fabric to the width of the bag plus seam
allowances, and twice the depth of the bag plus seam allowances.
3 Fold over one of the top edges of lining and sew top hem of lining.
4 Put the lining inside the bag and fold over and pin the second top
edge hem to fit just below the top of the knitted bag. It is better to
have the lining slightly shorter than the bag to stop it being loose at
the top. Sew second lining top hem.
5 Pin side seams of lining, try inside bag and adjust to fit. It is better
to have the lining slightly narrower than the bag to stop it being
loose, so that the knitted piece is eased to fit the lining piece.
6 Sew side seams of lining.
7 Pin the lining into knitted bag and hand sew in place.
8 Sew the handles onto the finished bag.
9 Cut 6 lengths of yarn 100cm long, and plait to form a tie.
10 Make one pompom in each of Yarn A and Yarn B. Sew one
pompom onto one end of the tie.
11 Thread the tie through the eyelets, and sew the second pompom
onto the remaining end.
