LAPTOP BAG

Note The stitch used has a lot of give and will fit most laptops within

the size ranges given. The length is adjustable, although yarn

quantities will vary from those stated if you work to a different

length. The cover itself will look much smaller when completed as it

is designed to fit when stretched. You may find making up easiest

with the closed laptop inside.

Cast on 55 ( 63 : 71 : 79 ) sts using 4.5mm needles.

Row 1 (RS) *K2, P2; rep from * to last 3 sts, K2, P1.

Last row sets patt.

Keeping patt correct (throughout), cont until work measures 47 ( 51 :

57 : 61 )cm, ending with a WS row. At this point, the cover should be

long enough to wrap around your laptop, with no overlap, so adjust

the length here if required. PM at each end of last row.

Cont without shaping until work measures 6cm from markers,

ending with a WS row.

Next row (buttonhole) Patt 3 ( 4 : 3 : 3 ), *yfwd, k2tog, patt 14 ( 16 : 19 :

22 ); rep from * to last 4 ( 5 : 5 : 4 ) sts, yfwd, k2tog, patt 2 ( 3 : 3 : 2 ).

Work 3 rows.

Cast off in patt.

MAKING UP

Fold cover in half so that cast-on edge meets the marked row. Join

side seams, leaving overlap free. Sew on buttons to match with

buttonholes.

Weave in ends and block gently to measurements, following any

yarn care instructions on the ball band.
