An online exhibition in memory of Wyn Appleford – one of

Exmouth Art Group’s most celebrated members is currently

A prolific painter, Wyn left a legacy of oil and watercolour

paintings featuring seascapes, harbours, landscapes and still

lifes. A donation from sale proceeds will be made by Wyn’s

family to the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Royal Institute of Oil Painters’ 128th annual exhibition at the

Mall Galleries, London is available to view and buy online at

Winning paintings from this year’s show include Tim Benson’s

Self-Portrait by Lamplight (above), which won The Artist Magazine

Award and Ruth Fitton’s Self-Portrait in Miniature (left) which won the

Winsor & Newton Young Artist Award. This is given to artists aged

30 or under. Ruth, who receives £1,000, said: ‘I celebrated the return to

my studio post lockdown by painting this self-portrait, from life over a

couple of days.’
