In line with their long-held focus on eco-
friendliness and sustainability, the British
metalcore band Architects are – in the lyrical
content of their ninth studio album, For
Those That Wish to Exist – contemplating
humanity’s destructive impact on the planet.

FIVE FACTS:

1. Architects were formed by twin brothers
   Dan and Tom Searle in 2004.


2. However, since Tom Searle’s death in
   2016, Dan Searle has been the band’s sole
   remaining original member.


3. “I began to question why I was so
   passive in my role in making the world a
   better place,” Dan Searle revealed to Apple
   Music about how he decided on the new
   album’s direction.


4. However, Architects have long strived
   for sustainability in their activities, from
   touring to producing merchandise.


5. Four of the new album’s tracks have been
   released as singles: “Animals”, “Black Lungs”,
   “Dead Butterflies” and “Meteor”.
