(Antfer) #1
Max Factor Facefinity 3in1 All Day
Flawless (£13.99; boots.com)
This superlightweight demi-matt
base comes in a great shade range and
can be layered to act as a primer, base
and concealer in one.

Honest Tinted Lip Balm (£10;
cultbeauty.co.uk)
With masks, we all need a hydrating
balm with a hint of colour. This one
is excellent and comes in a range of
flattering shades.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push
Up Lashes! (£23; charlottetilbury.com)
This comb mascara lengthens and
separates and can be used to push up and
lift lashes as it sets. The applicator can get
overloaded, so it’s worth cleaning it off on
a tissue every few weeks because it really
delivers long lashes.

Flower Beauty Light Illusion
Concealer (£6.65; superdrug.com)
This is such a good dupe for Nars
Radiant Creamy Concealer (£24;
narscosmetics.co.uk). The foundation
within this range, also called
Light Illusion, is very much akin to
Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder (£34;
charlottetilbury.com).

ELF Bite-Size
Eyeshadows (£3;
elfcosmetics.co.uk)
If you are tempted
to try a new eyeshadow, then try these mini
quads. Each one has four shades in a range
of matts and shimmers and allows you to
experiment without breaking the bank.

Erborian Pink Blur Stick
(£18; spacenk.com)
Don’t be put off by the pinkness of this
crayon. It’s a silicone lip primer (to lock in
colour and stop it bleeding into fine lines),
under-eye soft-focus prep and pore and
blemish blur stick in one.

Nudestix Gel Colour Lip
and Cheek Balm (£20; lookfantastic.com)
Never underestimate the ease of crayon
make-up. Nudestix does some of the best
and its gel sticks are the easiest to use.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil (£19; clarins.
co.uk) Lip oils soothe lips and add a
subtle hint of colour.

L’Oréal Paris Plump & Set Brow
Artist (£7.99; boots.com)
The easiest way to colour, define
and set brows is with a tiny,
angled brush and a tinted gel. This
is the best there is for the price.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye
Colour (£25; spacenk.com)
If you wear glasses, or a mask,
or both, you need to define
your eyes and this is by far
the easiest way. Sarah Jessica
Parker told me that she sleeps in this stuff,
it’s so long lasting. Choose a shade such
as Intense Amethyst, Plum or Cocoa and
you have the easiest-to-smudge eyeliner/
eyeshadow stick to run back and forth into
your lash line.

Chanel Les Beiges Bronzing Cream
(£42; chanel.com)
What is all the fuss about this stuff? Well, it
is a subtle bronzer that can also be
worn as an all-over-glow tinted
base. It’s brilliant, it really is,
but please, Chanel, make it

in at least one shade lighter and three darker
ones so everyone can benefit.

Kevyn Aucoin Foundation
Balm (£42; spacenk.com)
A word to the wise: this is
virtually the same as the Chanel
bronzer, but comes in a variety
of shades and is formulated to
be worn all over. It’s the same solid balm-to-
powder base and has far more shades. Be sure
to use a short-bristle compact brush to get the
most from these types of products.

Beauty Pie One Powder
Wonder (£6.91 to members;
beautypie.com)
The key to setting make-up
without it looking powdery
or caked into lines is to choose
an uberlucent (no colour) pressed powder.
This one is the best I’ve tried and genuinely
suits all skin colours.

The Ordinary Concealer
(£4.90; deciem.com)
The much awaited Concealer joins
the bestselling Serum and Coverage
Foundations. It’s matt, high coverage
but light reflective and easy to blend,
so perfect for around the eye area.

Maybelline Cheek Heat
(£8.99; superdrug.com)
A cream gel blusher
will stand up to a mask better than a powder
blush. This one goes on as a gel and dries to
a powdery finish after blending.

Iconic London Brow Silk (£20;
iconiclondon.com)
If you like groomed and lifted
brows, use this setting balm. Brush
through your brows for an instant
feathery, effect. Apply over a
brow powder or pencil too.

Zoeva brushes
(from £9; zoevacosmetics.co.uk)
If you have ever balked at the price of
designer brushes, Zoeva makes ones in every
conceivable design. I use the Smudger Brush
226 (£10) to blend powder liner. n
