INSPIRATIONS

(^08) RAINDROPS PORTRAIT BY SEBASTIANO
PIERI 1ST YOUNG WATER
Sebastiano captured this unusual photo
after a storm had passed, “The sun
came out and the rain drops became
illuminated,” he explains. The droplets
create a blurry illusion, making the figure
have an almost painted appearance, whilst
the bright red lips stands out against the
otherwise soft and desaturated image.
Lens Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
Exposure 1/100 sec, f/4, ISO100
(^09) THE ABSTRACTNESS OF ICE BY HEIDI
COHEN 1ST YOUNG BLACK AND WHITE
OVERALL WINNER
The random complex nature of ice crystal
formations makes for a stunningly detailed
shot. “This was taken using a macro lens
and focusing close to ice on a frosted
window,” explains Heidi. Being presented
in black and white, the image packs more
contrast and punch, allowing a clear view
of the intricate crystals, which would
otherwise be left unseen.
