DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

About the Designer
Karen George

My mother and aunt taught me to crochet
when I was young. It wasn’t until years
later, when I joined a local guild, that I
met people who helped me to hone my
skills. For many years, I was a professional
finisher of crocheted and knitted items. It
kept me quite busy, and there was little
time to develop designs of my own. In
2016, I became a full-time designer and
was able to devote the time to this new career. Little did I know
that I was not leaving the old career behind, as finishing is such
a crucial part of the process and one that I truly enjoy. I love all
things crochet. It is what relaxes me at the end of a busy day. My
idea of a good time is going through stitch pattern books and just
swatching, swatching, swatching!
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work
progresses.
Chain-3 at beginning of row
counts as first double crochet
unless otherwise stated.
Adding length to Body will
require more yarn.
Sleeve caps are created by
adding additional stitches at
each end of piece, as indicated
in pattern.

  • When making the V-stitch, placing it into the 4th chain of the
chain-7, instead of under the chain-7, will give a crisper finish
    to your pattern design.

  • Both pieces are worked exactly the same. Left- and right-side neck
    shaping applies to both pieces.

  • Blocking before seaming will open up the pattern and help you to
see the path for seaming better.

  • Eliminate extra ends and bulk by leaving a long tail to be later used
for seaming when beginning or fastening off each piece.

INTERMEDIATE Join with slip stitch unless^
otherwise stated.
