Final Thoughts
and Options
Try these additional ideas while you’re working:
- Work as fast as you can and do multiple exercises simultaneously
using diff erent complementary colors.
- Keep going when the timer goes off if you are still in that fearless
place of creative exploration.
- Instead of tossing your exercise, slip it into a notebook and
chronicle your creative journey.
- Go rogue and ignore any of the rules!
- Push the value contrast as far as
you can within each color: High
value = light/pastel, low value =
dark/shade.
- Study complementary colors
in a new direction. Instead of
exaggerating the complementary
colors, see if you can make them
mostly equal in emphasis.
In the next article in this series,
we will work with color in a new way,
exploring temperature.
