Set a Custom white balance
KEEP YOUR WHITES CLEAN AND BRIGHT
BY SETTING A CUSTOM WHITE BALANCE
This setting on your Nikon lets
you take a photo to use as a
reference for your white balance.
Set your lens to manual focus
and take a photo of a piece of
white or grey card, held under the
same lighting conditions as your
subject. Your white balance will
then be adapted to suit the
conditions. Another option is to
include a calibration chart or grey
card in one of the shots from your
shoot. You can then sample the
neutral grey point in post with a
white balance eyedropper (as
long as you’ve shot in Raw)
and sync the entire set of
photos to correct them all.
