DEPTH OF FIELD WITH
THIS LITTLE TRICK

Working out the hyperfocal
distance will allow you to obtain maximum depth of field, which is invaluable
for landscapes with foreground interest. The distance will vary depending on
the focal length and aperture used, so the best way to work it out is with a chart
or an app. Some lenses (particularly older ones) will have markings on the
barrel to help you out. If you want to quickly work out a rough-and-ready
hyperfocal distance in the field, look at the closest object you want in-focus and
estimate its distance from the camera, then double this distance and focus on a
spot roughly that far away.
