ch 70, join (see Pattern Notes) in
first ch being careful not to twist
ch, ch 1, sc in first ch, working
in back bar of ch (see illustra-
tion), sc in each ch around to
last ch, hdc in last ch. Place
marker (see Pattern Notes) in
bottom of hdc as last st. (70 sts)

Rnds 2 & 3: Split sc (see Spe-
cial Stitch) in each st around.

Rnds 4–38: Working split sc in
each sc around, change color
(see Stitch Guide) according to
Colorwork Chart (see Pattern
Notes) across first 35 sts, with
country yellow split sc in each
rem st around. Fasten off at end
of last rnd.

FINISHING

Block with image centered.

Working in back lps (see Stitch
Guide), sew top and bottom
edges closed with matching
yarn. CW
