Gen up on Jurassic creatures with our prehistoricWho’s Whoand become less dippy when it comes to dinos...
Stegosaurus
A burly beefcake, wielding a powerful,
spiked tail. More a do-er than a thinker,
- its brain was around the size of a plum.
Anchisaurus
Their ferocious claws were perhaps used
for gripping trees, ripping apart logs, or
maybe self defence. Handy.
Ankylosaurus
You’d be sore-us if you tried to bite an
Ankylosaurus: it was covered in hard
osteoderms – like those on an alligator.
Spinosaurus
With a crocodilian-like skull, it probably
also lived on both land and water. Possibly
even larger than T-Rex. Spine chilling.
Allosaurus
With a large skull, filled with serrated teeth
– curved to stop prey escaping – you
wouldn’t want this large beast saying ’allo.
Sinosauropteryx
A dandy dinosaur, with feathered stripes
along the length of its tail, and a badger-
like bandit mask pattern.
Brachiosaurus
Jurassic Park’s first computer generated
dinosaur. Could eat around 200 to 400
kilograms of plant matter daily.
Anchiornis
The size of a crow but powerful, as an
important part of birds’ early evolution.
Likelyaglider,ratherthanaflier.
Archaeopteryx
Two years after the publication ofOn the
Origin of Species, this bird-like dinosaur
confirmed Darwin’s evolutionary theories.
