dvice on healthy eating to adverts for local businesses –

the Instagram account @matchbloc, and now a book of

the same name, showcases an incredible collection of over

400 matchbox labels covering all of the above and more. They

date from the 1950s to early 1980s, from Czechoslovakia, Poland,

the Soviet Union and beyond, when the matchbox was a common

feature of everyday life. Their designers are now lost to history,

but their bold and colourful work still never fails in raising a smile.
