Here’s one for your boss: napping is good for
you. Shut eye is proven to boost everything
from alertness to creativity. Our circadian
rhythms make afternoons, between 2pm and
4 pm, prime napping time. Nap every day at
the same timefor your body to recognise it as
routine, helping you nod off faster.
Even ten minutes is worthwhile but 20–30
minutes is optimumfor alertness. Drink a coffee
just before your nap: the caffeine will kick in as
you wake, making for double get-up-and-go.
For a nappy environment,laydown (it’llget
you to sleep 50% quicker), somewhere dark
and noise free.
However,there’s bad news ifyou consider
yourself to be a bad napper. Researchers
believe humans are naturally divided into
nappers and non-nappers, and the latter,
sorry, will never truly master the art.
