you’ve recently changed). Place a tealight
in the centre of each plate and arrange the
f lowers around it.
Place a plate in each room, light the
candle, and set a little prayer or intention
for that particular space. You can do this
by meditating in each room or writing the
prayers or intentions down and placing
them in the room – be as creative as you
want. For example, in the living room you
might wish for family harmony; in a child’s
bedroom, a feeling of safety and nurturing.
In the bedroom, you might wish for a loving
and passionate relationship. In bathrooms,
we wish for good elimination (it matters!).
Fill your space with the intentions and
wishes of everyone who will spend time
there. Blow out all candles before you leave.

BEDTIME RITUAL
An essential-oil pillow spray not only smells
beautiful – a nightly ritual of turning down
your sheets and spritzing it onto your
pillows before bed can feel immediately
calming. The essential oils in this spray all
encourage relaxation;
vetiver is especially
good for insomnia.

Pillow spray


  • 80ml distilled water

  • 10 drops lavender
    essential oil

    • 5 drops camomile
      essential oil

      • 5 drops vetiver
        essential oil
        Combine and store
        all the ingredients
        in a glass spray bottle,






then shake the bottle well before you
spray it over your pillow.
Don’t forget your feet
Putting essential oil on the soles of your feet
before bedtime can help calm the nervous
system and get you ready for sleep. Try
lavender or Roman camomile oil (both
renowned sleep aids) and gently massage
intothefeet,eitherneatormixedwith
a little coconut oil.

GROUNDING RITUAL
Inthemidstofchange,especiallyunwanted
change,it’sveryeasytofindyourselfina
spiral of stress and emotions. A grounding
ritual will help to bring you back to the
present moment and remind you that when
everything feels up in the air, you are in fact
rooted and connected to the earth.
One of the simplest ways to feel grounded
is to take off your shoes and stand or walk
ontheearth–outsideongrassisbest.
Close your eyes and think about your
connection to the ground. Feel as if you
have roots growing from the soles of your
feet, all the way deep into the earth.
Concentrate on your breath. It may feel a bit
sillyatfirst,butitisasurprisinglypowerful
practice for calming yourself down. If
feeling brave, lie f lat on the grass. Spread
yourself out like a starfish and feel your
whole body connect with the ground.
