orning! What’s first on the agenda?
et the hens out at dawn and I don’t enjoy my
st cuppa until that’s done. Hens come first! I

ll us a bit about what you do?
ire hens and equipment to schools and train
em to properly care for them – it gives children
etter understanding of where their food comes
om. I run activity days and sessions where the
ildren can cuddle a chick, for example, and hire
t incubators so schools can watch chicks hatch.
ttle’s on. What do you fancy?
mug of English breakfast tea with one sugar.
m a mug-breaker, so they don’t last very long!
y current favourite is one I bought on holiday
Norway last year. I feel like I’m back there

when I use it. I like my tea looking a little pasty,
I might sneak a biscuit or two – bourbons are my
favourite – that’s if the kids have left me any.
Who do you enjoy sharing a pot of tea with?
I like to catch up with my fellow hen keeper Susie
and chat all things chicken.
Do you go online over a cuppa?
Yes, I love omlet.co.uk for chicken accessories,
I also keep track of @fresheggsdaily and
@drinkingwithchickens on Instagram.
What time do you clock off?
When all the animals are finally tucked up for
the night. Now, with the lighter evenings, the
hens get to range free for longer and I like to
walk the dogs or ride one of the horses before
shutting the hens up at dusk.
Last cup of the day?
Always. Make mine a Twinings Everyday,
enjoyed in front of the TV.
