Camera mounted are the one we saw above, the screen is mounted in front of the camera lens
on which the script is displayed. The Floor or standingteleprompters have mounted an angle on
the floor which means they are not used to make eyecontact with the audience.

The third one is presidential (podium) teleprompter,it got the name because it is preferred by
US presidents. The work similar to a camera mountedused to make
eye contact with the viewers but the work differently. They are not
mounted to the camera, the monitor screen is on theground facing
upward and the reflecting mirror is positioned ateye level, making
them perfect for podium talks and speech.

There are pros and cons of a teleprompter.

Pros: The speaker is not needed to memorize the script.News anchors and hosts can focus on
making natural eye contact with the viewers makingthem charming and more professional. Also
with the help of teleprompters, the speaker is committedto make fewer errors and avoid using
different words. It also reduces the time and costof shooting as lesser mistakes help reduce the
number of takes and editing required. Also, some talksrelated to a business require some of the
complex and numbers that need to be spoken exactlyand it makes it easy for the speaker to
recite those figures without making mistakes. Also,it helps to stay on topic when there is a time
constraint.

Cons: There takes an immense rehearsal to read thetext and to be able to show that one is
speaking naturally. Also, the whole script is notvisible on teleprompters so the speaker needs to
keep in mind what lines will be next so that he canmaintain his flow. And also if the speaker is
kept very near to the camera his eyes will go up anddown while reading so this is a problem.

The teleprompter is widely used nowadays because wedon’t have that much time to memorize
the whole speech and it also saves time of editingwhen there is a break in speech or something
wrong is said.
