To excavate, haul,
and dump the layer
of dust and rocks found
on the surface of the
moon, NASA designed
a mobile robotic plat-
form called RASSOR,
shown here at the
Kennedy Space Center.
To operate in a low-
gravity environment,
it has counter-rotating
bucket drums that
are not dependent
on traction or weight.
