Where we stayed
Perched high on a cliff overlooking
Mawgan Porth beach, Bedruthan
Hotel and Spa first opened its doors
in the 1950s. Behind the modernist
exterior you’ll find contemporary
décor, local art and expansive sea
views. Whether you’re in the bar or
the pool, your eyes will be forever
drawn to the large windows and the
Atlantic breakers crashing onto the
wide sands below. Our sea view
family villa had two bedrooms, a
large double and one with bunks,
and a private sundeck. There’s a
good-sized indoor and (seasonal)
outdoor pool and a path leads from
the hotel gardens to the beach. A
walk along the coastal path reveals
the colossal Bedruthan Steps, a
stack of huge granite rocks that
according to legend were stepping
stones for the giant, Bedruthan.
