Introduction.
This collection of interviews—featuring 126 individuals—wascompiled,
and shared with the aim to be open and honest aboutall thatcomes
withidentity/ies connected to Asia, in the worldtoday.
Interviews started 17th of Nov, 2020—
and were concluded 21st of Feb, 2021.
All participants with any connection(s)* to Asia wereaccepted upon
request, until closing date: past end of January 2021.
All interviews were conducted online.
Interviews consisted of 9 voluntary questions to beanswered-,
interpreted-, and skipped freely. Questions were phrasedto prompt
answers addressing generalisations and racism, aswell as celebrating
individuals, communities, cultures, similarities anddifferences alike.
Answers are published exactly as they were providedwithout any
editing in respect of each individual and what theyhave shared.
All minors’ names/ages/pronouns have been removedupon publishing.
Any requests to remain anonymous by participants havebeen accepted.
The decision to display nationalities & ethnicitieshave been discussed
with participants, agreed upon in hopes of broadeningpeople’s
perception of those (us) with connection(s) to Asia.
Any cancelled interviews (unless permitted to be included)have been
excluded.
*Connection(s) to Asia—including but not limited to:
nationality, ethnicity, race, parent(s)/family/relativesfrom Asia, parent(s)/family/relatives immigrated
from/to Asia, any adoptees from/to Asia, and otherpossible connection(s) not listed.
