addition, adhesions (thickened fibrous tissue) formed within the cavity can pull on the
membranes and tissues on the back wall of the abdomen and pelvis resulting in
continuous and severe back pain.


Fibromyalgia


Fibromyalgia is seen in about 2% of the general population and affects more females
than males. It is most commonly diagnosed in individuals between the ages of 20 and
50. Widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue are the main symptoms.

Although any area of the body may be affected, the lower back, neck, shoulders, are
common problem areas. The cause is unknown though mental stress has been cited as a
