The liver is the largest organ in the abdo-men.
Lift up the right lobe of the liver to observe
the green pear-shaped gallbladder, which
stores bile. Note the bile duct, which leads
from the gallbladder to the duodenum of the
small intestine. Push the liver aside and
identify the stomach, which lies on the left
side of the liver. Note its J shape. Note

the point at the anterior end of the stom-ach
where the esophagus penetrates the
diaphragm to join the stomach. The pos-terior
end of the stomach narrows to join the
anterior end of the small intestine, the
duodenum. The constriction at the junction
between the stomach and the duodenum is the
