of your back and the wall and you will just be able to pass your hand in the space. If your
hand goes through easily and there is additional space between the hand and your back
i.e. more than 2 inches, you have swayback.


Sway back

If you have swayback, the muscles in the back of the neck and back need stretching and
strengthening. Lengthening the muscles through stretching exercises must be done
gradually to avoid overstretching injuries. The pelvic tilt exercise (see back exercises) is
especially good for a swayback and can relieve lower back pain. The 'cat exercise' is also
beneficial.
