Ratskeller in Frankfurt am Main

12 th December 2012. On Wednesday, the
world stood upside down in the Römer-
Ratskeller in Frankfurt. 450 homeless
people were served the ‘Christmas goose
meal’ in the Ratskeller. For this, the waiter's
apron has been tied around by the mayor,
the supervisory board members of the local
banks, the newspaper editors, and the
professional footballers - all serve about
450 homeless people at the Christmas
goose dinner.

The patronage was held by Lord Mayor of
Frankfurt am Main, Mr. Peter Feldmann,
who himself was actively involved. "This rich
city of Frankfurt is simply too rich for
poverty," he said in his speech. In total, they
served 850 dumplings, 420 goose thighs,
100 kilos of red cabbage and 70 liters of
sauce. The food was prepared by chefs of
the Hessian Court. The whole thing was
organized by Bernd Reisig, former football
manager of soccer club Frankfurt, and paid
by Sodexo, the Frankfurt "Check-In Center",
Coca Cola and the Frankfurter Volksbank.

Peter Feldmann, the mayor, said in his
speech that he wanted to combat child and
old-age poverty, "that there are still too
many poor people in this rich city" and that
Frankfurter citizens should form a unity.
Chev. Daniel von Lison from the German
Priory gave a concert, playing during the
evening Christmas Carols.

Members of the Grand Priory in Germany
also participated actively in this
humanitarian action. PARAMUSIX has also
not been untested and has actively helped
with prominent musicians to give a fine day
and some hope to people who have been
able to cope with unlucky circumstances in
their lives. Their appearance and the music
have delighted the guests and given the
event an extra dimension.

PARAMUSIX is a main humanitarian project
of the Order of St. Stanislas in Germany. The
aim is to alleviate human suffering caused
by various fates. Poverty and social
vulnerability are always following complex
causes and circumstances. But the Priory
can make the lives of poor people a little
more bearable and more worthy of human
beings. The humanitarian work is done by
members of the Order of St. Stanislas on a
voluntary basis.
