27 th April 2002 Investiture in PlankensteinAustria ́s first investiture. The Guard dresses in the
uniform of 1901 came from Brno in the Check Republic
called Brunner Bürger- and Schützenkorps and were
ably led by Major Vlastimil Schildberger added a real
touch of history to the event. The atmosphere in the
Castle and its private Chapel was excellent. The Grand
Prior of Austria, Dame Sylvia Fritz-Anhalt, and H.E. Chev.
Richard Vaughan Rowland are to be congratulated on
their excellent organization of this the first Austrian
Investiture. A special thanks to Chev. Stan. Kowalczyk
from USA who acted as sword bearer with great
aplomb. The Countess Ulrika Habsburg-Lichtenstein
collected the Diploma and Appointment as Protector of
the Austrian Priory for her cousin, His Imperial and Royal
Highness, the Archduke Markus Salvator of Austria, was
very touched. Among the present were: Chev.

above couple’s baby daughter was christened in the
Chapel prior to the ceremony with Grand Master and his
