2002 Colchester

69 th Investiture on 22nd April 2002. Colchester. Saint
James the Less. This small ceremony was carried out at
short notice to accommodate six of Italian Knights who
were on a short visit to the UK, Chev. Gerald and Dame
Nadia Bissell were also invested at this time. We are
most beholding to Father Martin who celebrated the
mass and to the Staff of the George Hotel where we
dined. In Attendance were Chev. Marchese Cesare
Sabatucci G.C.C.St.S. Grand Prior of Italy, Marchese A.
Sabatucci, H.E. Dame Caroline Krawiec-Brownstone
and Mr. L. Brownstone III, Chev. Sir Steven Musker,
Chev. Alfred Winiecki, Mr. and Mrs. C. Butler-Smith,
Chev. Norman Offield, Dame Pauline Warren, Chev.

5 th Investiture of the Order of. St. Stanislas

The first investiture in Great Britain in Colchester ́s
George Hotel on 9 th September 1994 in Colchester,
Essex, Grand Britain. The splendid Guild Hall of
Colchester was the scene for the late summer
investiture of the Order which installed seventeen
new confreres. The ceremonies were presided over by
the Grand Master with the able assistance of Mr. le
Comte Evora and the Grand Marshal, General the
Chev. Bailey McCune, Baron of Elphinstone of
California who was in the United Kingdom at the same
time. Forty-five companions and guests attended the
luncheon after the Ceremonies. The ceremonies were
reported in the local press. Following the ceremonies
of the investiture in Colchester, the Grand Master
announced the following appointments to official
positions within the Order in the United Kingdom: The
present Grand Prior of England was made Grand Prior
of Great Britain and Chev. Paul Burton was appointed
Deputy Grand Prior. The present Prior of Cornwall,
which becomes a Commandery, Chev. Keith Jackson
was appointed Prior of England. Chev. Norman Offield
was appointed Chancellor of the Grand Priory of Great
Britain. Chev. Gordon Gentry G.C.St.S., installed as
Commander of the Commandery of Hertfordshire.
Chev. Douglas Graham Newton C.St.S. as Commander
of the Commandery of Devon, Chev. Arthur Parr,
C.St.S. as the Commander of Merseyside. Chev. Eric
Taylor, C.St.S. as Commander of the Commandery of
Sussex.

2001 London

The annual Investiture ceremony of the Order of St.
Stanislas in England was held on the 28th April 2001 in
Saint Bartholomew ́s Priory Church, in London.
Hosting the event was Chevalier Norman Offield
G.C.St.S. the Prior of England and the service was
conducted by Chevalier the Reverend Dr. Martin
Dudley G.C.C.St.S., Prelate for England and Grand
Commissioner of the Order. Eight new Companions
were invested, and more than 80 members and
visitors attended the ceremony and the banquet that
followed. The Grand Master presided over the
ceremony, and among the guests were Avril Nowina
Sokolnicki, Chevalier Paul Burton who is the Grand
Prior of Great Britain, and as well a contingent of
Japanese Companions under the leadership of the
Grand Prior of Japan, chevalier E. Nishikawa G.C.St.S.
Also present was a contingent of Companions from
Belgium, a contingent from Russia under the
leadership of Chevalier V. Sladkov G.C.St.S. who is a
member of the Russian Duma), and a contingent from
the Ukraine. Representing the United States was
Dame Caroline Brownstone G.C.St.S. (an Ambassador
of the Order), representing Italy Chevalier Richardo
Pantone, and representing Poland, the Commander of
Pomerania, Chevalier H. Lichota C.St.S.
