checking the mailbox, and I assume you expected a call. But I’ve always been better at writing
than speaking. I never meant for you to feel discarded.I told you I would have kept you. This is
me, keeping you. If you’ll have me.
I’ve been telling mom about our life in New York.She’s enamored with Mr. Whiskers
though I don’t have a picture to show her of him,and she’s been trying to speak in a New York
accent all day. It’s horrible. I love her. We areheading back east now. Mom says she wants to see
Manhattan. If it rains, we’ll duck into a bar thathappens to have a beautiful woman in an ugly
brown blazer, and we’ll order some cokes.
