Modular and MOBILE OFFICE

AIDS help blur spatial boundaries

and generate fluid functionality.

For maximum workplace productivity, organization
is essential. Especially when you consider a statistic
published in the Harvard Business Review: 80 per cent
of an office worker’s day is spent in meetings and in
fulfilling colleagues’ requests. CBRE predicts that by
2020, 45 per cent of multinationals will shift from
a constraining work setup to a hot-desking strategy

  • up from the 30 per cent who employ it today.
A collaborative approach allows an office to open
up but also requires time-saving versatility and mobility
in terms of furniture and tools. From lamps that can
charge smartphones to whiteboards on wheels, many
of today’s office products are based on the idea that
a temporary workplace can be ‘built’ anywhere. One
advantage is the ease at which employees can designate
impermanent functions to certain rooms or areas. The
results are a sense of freedom and the elimination of
    constraints. – LGM

Dustbin or stool? Moving Walls lets it up to the user. Designer
Jörg Boner selected recycled Formfleece in stone grey for
his stackable Moving Stools, which can be flipped to serve as
containers or wastepaper baskets. Each stool has two cut-out
handholds and a moulded, slightly concave seat.

Slim System is a series of versatile and easy-to-assemble lights
by Josep Lluscà for Fluvia, which is Simon Electric’s technical
lighting brand. The striking linear constructions complement the
architecture of the space they inhabit, inviting both horizontal
and vertical extension.

Constructed from solid beech, the easel that holds Studiotools’
whiteboard has a matte-lacquered finish. The visual midpoint of today’s
modern office, the object, which can be carried by one person, is also
available with wheels. To store more than one easel, the user just folds
and stacks them – no tools required.
