In Berlin, The Urban Dentist looks more like a concept store or bar than a medical
facility: Studio Karhard aimed for a visually exciting space for not-so-exciting visits.
Different materials express the varying functions of the office, and unconventional
colours are meant to relax the patient.

To assuage waiting-room anxiety for children and parents, Mor Dagan
designed the Piggo seating system. Dagan’s intimate, private space
eliminates overwhelming feelings of discomfort. A playful staircase
invites children to sit slightly perched above their parents, encouraging
positive interaction.

Ella Westlund’s modular sofa Be a Part Of creates a sense of solidarity.
The central element allocates room for a wheelchair, allowing its user to be included in
an otherwise exclusionary piece of furniture. In considering usability for all, Westlund
