Time was when a sticky floor or muddy field, a few on-

stage props (for the lucky few), a couple of spotlights

and a smoke machine were all you could hope for as a

concertgoer. A concert is primarily about the music, of

course, and not the set dressing. But what if you could

have the best of both? Technology’s transformative

effect on the live music experience has raised the level

of the spectacle to match that of the sound. Whether its

in-venue, in-game or in-VR, concert design is helping

audiences feel closer to the performer and to their fellow

fans than ever before.
