THE FUTURE OF SHOWS
In the lead-up to each issue, Frame challenges emerging designers to
answer a topical question with a future-forward concept. That technology
has drastically altered the design landscape is nothing new, but the
immateriality associated with such developments begs the question:
what’s next? When it comes to staging events, we’ve seen dancers frolic
with drones, holographic catwalk shows for virtual fashion lines and sets
that transform via light projections. With VR and AR on the rise, will the
‘stage’ as we know it cease to exist? Or will designers revolt and return to
the physical? We asked five makers to think ahead.
