PMS suggests replacing elitist catwalk shows
with a DIGITAL FASHION PLATFORM.
Your concept relates specifically to the
fashion industry... SUZANNE MULDER:
PMS envisions a progressive revolution
whereby ‘digital fashion’ helps to mitigate
overproduction and overconsumption. Even
if physical stores disappear in the near future,
experiencing a brand or collection will main-
tain – if not gain – significance. If we use our
imaginations and explore the digital world as
a virtual playground, we can visualize immer-
sive and stimulating fashion experiences.
What kinds of experiences? PUCK MAR-
TENS: A customer could interact with
nonphysical clothing at several special
locations – or perhaps in their own living
room with the help of virtual-reality glasses.
Designers would need to express their vision
in a digital realm to be part of The Nearby
Spectrum of Exposure, a platform that could
replace current hierarchical catwalk shows.
