You should see the direction handles for the anchor points on either side of the anchor point

you just edited.

9. Select the Direct Selection tool, and drag the anchor point you converted. Snap it to the anchor

point at the base of the swan neck.

Note

You may find you need to drag the anchor point up a little higher to cover the back of

the swan.

10. Move the pointer over the end of the direction handle coming from the top anchor point, and
    drag to change the shape of the path.
