Adobe Illustrator CC Classroom in a Book (2019 Release), First Edition

With the path selected, change the fill color to the orange swatch named “Cattail” in the
Properties panel and the stroke weight to 0.

Select the Selection tool, and Shift-drag the corner to make it about half its current size.
Release the mouse button and then the key. Do the same for the green leaf shape.

Choose View > Fit All In Window to see everything.

Drag the shapes onto the swan artwork like you see in the figure.

For each of the shapes, make a series of copies by Option-dragging (macOS) or Alt-dragging
(Windows) copies to different parts of the artwork. Make sure you release the mouse button
and then the key when dragging to make copies. See the following figure.
