Choose Select > Deselect.
Click the Appearance panel tab. You should see “No Selection: Mountain” at the top of the
panel (you may need to scroll up).
When you apply appearance settings, graphic styles, and more to artwork, the next shape you
draw will have the same appearance settings listed in the Appearance panel as the previous
one.
Click to select the top shape in the background that has the Mountain graphic style applied. An
arrow is pointing to it in the following figure.
Click the fill color in the Fill appearance row, and in the Swatches panel that appears, select
the Mountain! swatch.
