If you modify the PivotTable, the PivotChart is also changed.

More about PivotCharts
Keep in mind these points when using PivotCharts:

■ (^) A PivotTable and a PivotChart are joined in a two-way link. If you make struc-
tural or filtering changes to one, the other is also changed.
■ (^) When you activate a PivotChart, the PivotTable Fields task pane changes to
the PivotChart Fields task pane. In this task pane, Legend (Series) replaces the
Columns area, and Axis (Category) replaces the Rows area.
■ (^) The field buttons in a PivotChart contain the same controls as the PivotChart’s
field headers. These controls allow you to filter the data that’s displayed in the
PivotTable and PivotChart. If you make changes to the PivotChart using these but-
tons, those changes are also reflected in the PivotTable.
■ (^) If you have a PivotChart linked to a PivotTable and you delete the underlying
PivotTable, the PivotChart remains. The PivotChart’s Series formulas contain the
original data, stored in arrays.
■ (^) By default, PivotCharts are embedded in the sheet that contains the
PivotTable. To move the PivotChart to a different worksheet (or to a Chart sheet),
choose PivotChart Tools Analyze ➪ Actions ➪ Move Chart.
■ (^) You can create multiple PivotCharts from a PivotTable, and you can manipulate
and format the charts separately. However, all of the charts display the same
data.
■ (^) A normal chart, when selected, displays the icons to the right: Chart Elements,
Chart Styles, and Chart Filters. A PivotChart does not display the Chart Filters
icon.
