Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Lenhas been involved in programs of problem
solving and stress release for four decades. He spent three years as a
consulting clinical psychologist at Hawaii State Hospital. He has
worked with thousands of people over the years, including groups at
the United Nations; UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scien-
tific, and Cultural Organization); International Human Unity Con-
ference on World Peace;World Peace Conference;Traditional Indian
Medicine Conference; Healers for Peace in Europe; and the Hawaii
State Teachers Association.
He has been teaching the updated Ho’oponopono system world-
wide since 1983. He co-presented the system at the United Nations
three times with Kahuna Lapa’au Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, des-
ignated a Living Treasure of Hawaii in 1983 for her creation of the
updated Ho’oponopono. Dr. Hew Len applied the system successfully
as staff psychologist from 1984 to 1987 in a high-security unit at the
state psychiatric facility in Hawaii.
He has extensive experience working with developmentally dis-
abled people and with the criminally mentally ill and their families.
Today he travels and leads workshops on the Hawaiian method he
loves, often with Dr. Joe Vitale.
