serious, they spent more time together. The month
after Mark’s confession things remained consistent
within their progressing relationship. They hadn’t
really talked anymore about God’s revelation or
what it meant, and they weren’t discussing wedding
plans either.
At the beginning of month two of their
committed relationship, four months after meeting,
things started to go downhill. Nancy started to see a
different side of Mark. She started noticing very
controlling behavior. Mark suddenly wanted to
regulate what she wore, where she went, and who
she talked to. She also began experiencing a more
verbally aggressive side of Mark. He started talking
down to her and being disrespectful in the way he
spoke to her.
Mind you, Mark also quoted Bible scriptures,
went to church with her, and played it off like
nothing was going on. On the surface it appeared
that he was a man of God, but his behavior behind
closed doors was the complete opposite.
Believe it or not, Nancy still convinced herself
and believed the relationship could work. After all,
Mark did tell her that God told him she was his
