Ascending and descending triple top formations are in essence two successive
double top or bottom formations. For an ascending double top formation,
the first double top is breached, followed by the breach of a higher double
top pattern. The reverse applies for descending triple top formations. See
Figure 15.22.
Figure 15.23 depicts a typical ascending triple top in Financial Select Sector
SPDR. Notice the upper Bollinger Band coinciding with the double top breakout.
Figure 15.24 is an illustration of a three‐box descending triple bottom.
