Basic Elliott Wave Analysis


As a rule, leading and ending diagonal triangles always subdivide into five
waves where leading diagonal triangles unfold in a 3‐3‐3‐3‐3 or 5‐3‐5‐3‐5 pattern
and ending diagonal triangles as a 3‐3‐3‐3‐3 pattern. See Figure 18.5.
It should be noted that both leading and ending diagonal triangles may occa-
sionally be of the expanding type, instead of the regular contracting or converging
diagonal triangle. See Figure 18.6.
