Management. Remove with gentle twisting or by tying a surgical string around
the base and cutting it off (the base is removed by electrocautery or laser). Post-
removal, give antibiotics even in the absence of infection because many polyps
are infected. Although most cervical polyps are benign, the removed tissue
should be sent to pathology. Regrowth of polyps is uncommon.
