Children's Mercy Hospital Prepped & Ready

(agerstner) #1

Host Site: St Therese North +

Knights of Columbus

Names: Father Joe Cisetti and Rob Perschau

In person event, late 2018

Rob did lots of grass roots style promotion - church
bulletin, school newsletters, handed out flyers, local
press, emails with teachers

Catholic paper did a writeup after the event

Had a really great turnout from the local community
(approx 150)

Was a lot more important than “hosting a bingo
night”

Improved turnout from parents of the school by
allowing students of parent attendees to attend class
without a uniform for a day

Was interested and open to hosting Prepped and
Ready again in the future

Time and location affected turnout

End of school year so parents were busy

Downtown and they received some comments about
concerns with the drive and parking in an unfamiliar
area.

Lots of information but well organized. Not sure
what to cut to make it more manageable

It’s some heavy material

Appreciated the illustration of the care bears and
strawberry shortcake to illustrate how the changes in
the characters may affect body image for kids

Was very positive on the presentation and the
material presented
