5 Do the same thing on the other side. Inhale to extend the arms straight back
behind you, interlacing the fingers with the opposite thumb on top. Then move the
knuckles as far over to the left as you can and gently tilt your head to the left. Take a
few deep breaths here and then come back to center.


Dress   comfortably when    you practice    yoga.   I   usually wear    leggings    or  yoga
pants with a tighter tank top and a loose off-the-shoulder shirt on top.
That way I can remove a layer when I start sweating and nothing will droop
over my head in Downward-Facing Dog. At the end of a class I usually feel
a little chilly, and then I have a layer to put on top again.
The most important part is that you feel comfortable and that you can
move freely. Remember that big seams or zippers are too bulky for positions
in which you are lying down, so try to find a pair of leggings that aren’t too
embellished. If you sweat a whole lot or practice hot yoga (yoga in a heated
room), sweat-wicking performance materials are great (high-functioning
yoga pants can even make arm balances easier when we’re sweating!). If
you’re practicing a gentler style of yoga in which you’re not sweating that
much, natural materials like cotton and bamboo feel amazing. Do you
