89of life, with regard to the basic sanitation of these places? To answer this
question, werw analyzed the activity report and field copybook from the
Project team “Plano Municipal de Saneamento Básico em 22 municípios
do Tocantins”, carried out by the Universidade Federal do Tocantins
through a decentralized execution term with the Fundação Nacional
da Saúde. The data were collected using participatory methodologies,
specifically using participatory rapid diagnosis techniques. The analyzes
show that the beach seasons have a negative impact on the basic
sanitation situation of these communities, since they contaminate the
Waters and increse the irregular disposal of solid waste on the banks and
riverbeds. These findings can serve as a bases for thinking about new
public tourism policies and support the discussions on the elaboration of
the Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan for these municipalities.
