sented in three steps. The first one presents “The letters to Restinga”, telling our memo-
ries, living or imagining in a shared way the effect of the environment on the lives of those
who are around and desire it. This rescue has the purpose of keeping alive the Restinga
and all it brings to us.
In the second part we present a view of the environmental preservation impor-
tance with the experiences introduced in the region and in accordance with the current
and the future legislation, preventing, in a certain way, the population explosion concer-
ning the seaside occupation and environmental degradation with a consequent loss of
local biodiversity. A new vision of the effect of land demarcations, rescue alternatives,
and preservation of our Restinga has also been the aim to keep it alive and fruitful.
Finally, in the third part, we present a historical review of some plant species that
live in the Restinga. Through illustrations, images, details, and, often, the almost imper-
ceptible ways that emerge from them, we are eager to share all the delicacy and wonders
that live around us. These plant species that became known in the past were described
by means of the “naturalists” as they ventured to collect them and devoted some time to
admire them. Today, this information helps us to notice and identify them, bringing more
affinity and knowledge of our interrelations with this Restinga ecosystem; wonderful,
unique and full of diversity that somehow unites us.
