Frequently Asked Questions
I have counseled thousands of patients throughout the years, and many asked
very insightful questions about the Perfect 10 Diet. I have included some of the
most frequently asked questions here to share with you.
I suffer from diabetes. Is the Perfect 10 Diet safe for me?
Absolutely. The Perfect 10 Diet is beneficial for diabetics, as it will
help stabilize your blood sugar levels and lower your insulin
demands. It’s balanced in all food groups. Diabetics in particular
should eat more natural fats and should not follow a low-fat diet.
Can I eat any nitrite-free bacon, Canadian bacon, ham, or sausage on
the Perfect 10 Diet?
No, these protein sources have been linked to gastrointestinal cancer
even without nitrites. They contain a lot of salt, which raises blood
pressure. Bacon and sausage are often fried, which produces
harmful oxidized cholesterol. The link to colon cancer appears to be
related to the protein itself, not just the nitrites. If you must eat
nitrite-free bacon, Canadian bacon, ham, or sausage, do so
infrequently and in very small amounts. If you do, bake them rather
than fry them.
Which fruit juices are best to drink?
None except for tomato, which is rich in lycopene. Fruit juices can
contain more sugar than soda. Vegetable juices are better
alternatives, except carrot and beet juices, as they contain a lot of
sugar.
