I had the good fortune of reading the latest work of
M/s Seetha Goonetilleke “The Excellent View-7” which
is the 7th book in the series of Buddhist Books authored
by the author, called the excellent view by which she had
described in Sinhala the value of guiding oneself on Buddhistic
values which are contained in the Pirith Sutta for peaceful living.

She had composed her work “The Excellent View-7”
based on “ Girimananda Sutta.”

Girimananda Sutta is a sutta that is contained in the
“Piruvana Poth Vahanse” alias “Chathu Bhanavara Paliya” in the
second Banawara as one of the “Seth Pirith” that had been chanted
by Enlightened Bhikkus.

Girimananda Sutta was chanted to heal Reverand
Girimananda who had been in a critical stage of ill health.
The said “ Sutta” had made proper attention to the Ten
beacons which has power to heal diseases. The said “ Sutta” is
chanted as a protective Pirith to heal persons who are ill.

The author had made an excellent analysis using Pali,
English and Sinhala Languages appropriately to make it more
comprehensive to the reader. Her said exercise is commendable.

My wife and I first came to know M/s Seetha Goonetilleke

while she was serving as an English Teacher at D.S.Senanayak
Vidyalaya, Colombo-

It was during this time that I and my wife came to
know the service rendered by M/s Goonetilleke to needy
undergraduates who were from families: who were among the
poorest of the poor.

M/s Goonetilleke had with the able and spiritual
guidance of Ven Dr Mirisse Dhammika Thero, the
chief priest of Siri Sudassanarama Sadaham Senasuna
