Sleep, Mindfulness, and Nutrition, automatically
counting our steps, walking, and running
distances, and tracking our Activity data when
paired with an Apple Watch. However, it’s
widely rumored that Apple will introduce in-
built sleep tracking as part of Apple Watch 5
expected this September, further improving
health and fitness and providing deeper
insights into our lifestyle. Armed with the data,
we can make more sensible choices about our
exercise and diet habits to improve our sleep
and overall fitness, and hopefully increase our
lifespan in the process.

Apple didn’t pivot towards the healthcare
industry overnight - first, with the launch of
the Apple Watch, and subsequently through
software and hardware releases. Screen Time
is another fantastic demonstration of Apple’s
commitment not only to our physical wellbeing
but our mental wellbeing, too. And as the
company integrates further technologies
into iOS and watchOS in the coming years,
it’s clear that Apple is building the ultimate
fitness ecosystem.

A WORLD OF FITNESS APPS

Whilst Apple provides the foundation and
the data to help us get fit, it’s the third-party
app developers that make workouts more
manageable. No longer do we have to stare at
the gym wall or our living room floors to enjoy a
workout - we can get personalized, professional
help at the touch of a button from our iPhone
and iPad. Take the 30 Day Fitness Challenge
app, for example, which for $4.99 per week will
put together weekly equipment-free workout
routines based on your current ability and goals.
