translates to 63,000 carats. The museum
also boasts the world’s largest jade boulder,
rough ruby and star sapphire. Other not-so-
impressive claims include the only mineral
with ‘imperial’ in its name.
Bogyoke Aung San Museum MUSEUM

July, Martyrs’ Day, the former home of Gen-
eral Aung San and his wife Daw Kin Kyi
contains remnants of another era. Inside the
1920s house you will fi nd several old fam-
ily photos, which of course include daughter
Aung San Suu Kyi as a little girl.
