Where Should You

Dine Out This Thanksgiving?

Because toiling in the kitchen is for suckers.

Looking for a
traditional experience?

How much food do you want to eat?

Any vegetarians in the group?

While everyone else is busy
gobbling at home, it’s the
perfect time to head to
the far-less-crowded-than-
usual San Diego Zoo for
the perfect family outing and
meal. All of the zoo’s fi ne-and
casual-dining spots will be
open and serving.

GET MY BELLY TO
AN ALLICANEAT
BUFFET, STAT.

A LOT, BUT
COMPLIMENTARY
BOOZ IS A MUST. WE
UNDERSTAND. WE
HAVE INLAWS, TOO.

I STILL WANT TO FIT INTO MY
PANTS ON BLACK FRIDAY.

Let Chef Amy DiBiase
do all the holiday prep
work. The Shores off ers
an exquisite, beachside
buff et, featuring Bourbon
Brined North Carolina
Tom Turkey. Other fancy
buff ets can be found at
1500 Ocean at The
Hotel Del Coronado
and at the Pine Hills
Lodge in Julian.

Head to the holiday buff et
at Lael’s Restaurant in
the Manchester Grand
Hyatt downtown, which
always promises an
overabundance of food
stations, as well as com-
plimentary champagne (to
apply as a numbing agent,
at your own discretion).

Bring on the (free-range)
meat! Bertrand at Mr. A’s
in Bankers Hill will satisfy
even the most pinkies-out
palates with Chef Stéphane
Voitzwinkler’s prix fi xe, three-
course holiday menu. Other
suitable options include Pa-
cifi ca Del Mar and Vivace.

THE BEST WEEK EVER: 10 DAYS TO CELEBRATE OUR CITY’S FINEST CRAFT

It’s not your average pint night. San Diego Beer
Week counts nearly 400 events over the course
of 10 days as part of the city’s largest celebration
of cra beer. Hosted by the San Diego Brewer’s
Guild, everyone from the brewers at Alpine Beer
Co. to the techies behind the Tap Hunter beer-
locater iPhone app will be celebrating local brews
with tastings, food pairings, beer gardens, home
brewing demonstrations, and plenty of good old
fashioned sipping. The festi-
val closes with a beer garden
at the Lodge at Torrey Pines,
featuring a smorgasbord of
food and beer samples (un-
limited tasters!) served up by the city’s best chefs
and restaurants. Visit sdbw.org for a full schedule
